This is a complete invoicing system for Great Plains written in Visual Basic
Version 6.
Features include: Quote, Order, Invoice, Return and Back Orders.
Easy to use Point of Sale type system. Includes own custom written serial number
tracking functionality. Easy to specify printer-destinations per document type.
History of the Mechanic
The program was written over a period of approximately 3 months and then debugged
in a live production environment. Features were requested by users, evaluated on basis
of merit, and then implemented. Common user complaints regarding the standard Great Plains
Sales Order system were addressed in this new program.
At the end of the project, the users were very happy with the system. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards the company was liquidated.
Present Status
The program is exactly as it was on the last day of development. It is stable but still has
various small bugs.
Features and functionality and nice-to-haves, need to be added.It is still completely customer-specific. It is also version specific, and needs to be upgraded for Version 6.
It will probably need some work to make it work on Pervasive SQL (it was written for MS sql 7).
There are a few custom SQL tables, related to setup and to serial number tracking, which need to be redefined. I will try and find the original definitions. There are also some minor forms which are missing - these need to be recovered.
